Abdul Fatawu Safiu, the 26-year-old footballer, has expressed his excitement at the opportunity to play for Asante Kotoko for the second time.
Safiu, a popular figure among Kotoko fans, officially signed a two-year contract, extending his commitment to the club until January 2026. The player, who was named the best player and top scorer of the NC’s special competition in 2019, is returning to Kotoko after playing for Trelleborgs FF and FC Trollhättan in Sweden.
In his statement to the club’s official website, Safiu conveyed his delight about the chance to return to Kotoko, emphasizing that playing for the club twice is a dream come true.
He expressed his readiness to contribute to the team and help achieve its goals. During his initial stint with Kotoko in the 2018-2019 season, Safiu made a significant impact, scoring 13 goals in sixteen appearances and delivering notable performances in the CAF Confederation Cup.
