In a tightly contested match at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco secured a 1-1 draw against DR Congo, with Achraf Hakimi finding the back of the net in the first half.
Morocco, despite taking an early lead with Hakimi’s goal, faced a resilient DR Congo side. The latter fought hard to level the score before halftime, but their goal by Cedric Bakambu was disallowed.
The second half saw both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances until the 76th minute, when a brilliant finish by Silas Mvumpa brought DR Congo back into the game.
With this result, Morocco maintains its position at the top of Group E with four points, while DR Congo secures valuable points after drawing their last two games. The competition in the group remains intense as teams vie for progression in AFCON 2023.
