Bishop Daniel Obinim has raised concerns over UTV’s broadcast of false news about him without seeking clarification directly from him or verifying the information with credible sources.
In a video shared by OB TV and reposted by entertainment blogger Zionfelix, Bishop Obinim expressed frustration with UTV’s employees for airing news based on a video from an unidentified source, without giving him the opportunity to explain his side of the story.
“I am aware that UTV broadcasted false news about me,” Bishop Obinim stated in the video.
He acknowledged the support of Dr. Ofori Sarpong, his brother and close family member, who prevented him from taking severe action against UTV. He highlighted Dr. Ofori Sarpong’s friendship with Kwame Despite, suggesting their influence within the media industry.
The bishop criticized UTV for not verifying the information with him or Dr. Ofori Sarpong, emphasizing the importance of seeking clarification before airing potentially damaging news.
Although Bishop Obinim did not specify the particular false news aired by UTV, he has been vocal about addressing inaccuracies and attacks on his character by certain individuals and media outlets in recent times.
UTV has yet to respond to Bishop Obinim’s allegations, leaving the matter unresolved as of now.
