The Bolgatanga Technical University in the Upper East region is in mourning following the tragic killing of its Deputy Registrar and Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Alhassan Azumah. Unknown assailants shot Mr. Azumah at his residence in Sokabisi, Bolgatanga.
In an official statement, Professor Peter Osei Boamah, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, expressed deep sorrow and shock over the incident, emphasizing the profound pain felt by the university’s management, staff, and students.
The statement strongly condemned the gruesome murder and assured the public that the Upper East Regional Crime Office is actively investigating the case.
While affirming the safety of the university premises for conducting business, the statement clarified that the incident is isolated and unrelated to the university’s operations. It called for calm and cooperation with the ongoing police investigation, urging everyone to allow the authorities to apprehend the perpetrators behind this heinous crime.
