Nigerian music icon and entrepreneur, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr. Eazi, secured the Young Entrepreneur Award at the 2024 African Prosperity Champions Award ceremony held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra. This accolade celebrates Mr. Eazi’s commitment to establishing businesses in Africa and promoting the continent as an attractive destination for foreign investments.
Mr. Eazi’s noteworthy business initiatives, acknowledged by the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), contributed to his recognition with the prestigious Young Entrepreneur Award. The founder of Banku Music, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to the organizers, the African Prosperity Network (APN), and credited his entrepreneurial journey’s roots at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Reflecting on his diverse career, which has spanned from technology to music over seven years, Mr. Eazi emphasized his role as a creative entrepreneur, challenging stereotypes that attempt to confine him solely to the music industry. He highlighted the importance of being recognized for his multifaceted contributions, reinforcing his commitment to the ongoing work and the future potential of Africa.
Mr. Eazi’s independent record label, Banku Music, serves as a platform for nurturing emerging African artists, showcasing his dedication to supporting talent within the industry. Internationally acclaimed for his Afrobeat contributions, Mr. Eazi has collaborated with artists globally, elevating the popularity of Afrobeats on the world stage.
Beyond his musical endeavors, Mr. Eazi is the visionary behind the annual Detty Rave festival, which celebrates African music and culture. The festival, attended by local and international artists, not only entertains but also contributes to community engagement and development. Detty Rave provides a platform for local businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs, fostering a sense of community and empowerment.
