Renowned Ghanaian actress and host of Onua Showtime, Nana Ama McBrown, demonstrated her philanthropic spirit by donating GH¢10,000 to support the release of prisoners in Ghana.
During an episode of her cooking show, McBrown’s Kitchen, Nana Ama presented a cheque of GH¢10,000 to the Crime Check Foundation (CCF) in support of their petty offenders project. The donation was made to the foundation’s Executive Director, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng.
Mr. Oppong Kwarteng, accompanied by a female ex-convict, appeared on the cooking show to share the woman’s story. Nana Ama was deeply moved by the ex-convict’s narrative, which highlighted the importance of not stigmatizing inmates for their past mistakes but rather helping them reintegrate into society effectively.
Through her generous donation, Nana Ama McBrown aimed to contribute to the cause of supporting prisoners’ rehabilitation and reintegration, emphasizing the importance of compassion and assistance in promoting positive societal change.
