NPP Dissociates Itself From Maurice Ampaw Over Comments Against Otumfuo

Published:

In response to Maurice Ampaw’s recent controversial comments on Wontumi TV, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, clarified that Maurice Ampaw has not been appointed as a spokesperson for the party.

The NPP has distanced itself from Ampaw’s comments, emphasizing that he is not officially recognized by the party.

The disassociation comes after Maurice Ampaw’s remarks on Wontumi TV regarding the summon issued to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), by the Kumasi Traditional Council. Ampaw’s comments were deemed disrespectful to traditional authorities, prompting the NPP to make it clear that he does not represent the party.

The situation reflects tensions between the party and traditional authorities, highlighting the need for accountability and respect in public discourse.
