In a swift response to public criticism, Pastor Adeboye, the senior preacher at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has taken down a post featuring a prayer that was deemed inappropriate.
The RCCG, through their official platform, shared a video of Pastor Adeboye delivering a special prayer on the night of the 2023 crossover to congregants.
In the video, Pastor Adeboye prayed for the upliftment of his members, with an unintended consequence of the perceived detriment to the prosperity of their colleagues. Social media users expressed outrage at his statement, particularly where he said, “This time next year, your colleagues will be coming to you for food and refreshment. In every family, there’s someone they call a go-to person; I decree in your family, you’ll be the go-to person.”
The video was swiftly taken down within an hour of posting due to the widespread backlash from internet users who condemned the prayer.
