Akosua Adjei Boateng, a talented orphan and former student of Juaso Senior High Technical School, has been unable to pursue her tertiary education due to financial constraints. Despite achieving an impressive grade A in eight subjects in the 2023 WASSCE and being adjudged the best candidate in the technical programme by WAEC, Akosua has been unable to continue her education.
Dr. Eric Nkansah, Director General of the Ghana Education Service, stepped in to offer his support. After presenting Akosua with her cash prize and certificate of recognition, Dr. Nkansah announced that he would take care of her educational expenses. The audience applauded his generous offer, and Akosua expressed her gratitude.
Akosua’s aspiration is to become a Civil Engineer. Her exceptional performance in the WASSCE earned her the best candidate award in the technical programme. WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr. John Kapi, highlighted Akosua’s achievements and her need for support to continue her education.
Dr. Nkansah’s support has secured Akosua’s future, allowing her to pursue her dreams without financial worry. His gesture demonstrates the impact of kindness and support on individuals’ lives. Akosua’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of providing opportunities for talented individuals to excel, regardless of their background or financial situation.
