A Nigerian woman who openly shared her lifelong struggle with loneliness and celibacy has become the unexpected center of attention after her emotional story moved listeners across the world. According to Agidigbo FM, the 46-year-old, whose name remains private, is now receiving multiple marriage proposals from suitors in Nigeria and abroad.
Her touching revelation came during an appearance on Kokoro Alate, a popular radio show hosted by veteran broadcaster Oriyomi Hamzat. The woman, speaking candidly and tearfully, disclosed that she had never experienced a romantic relationship or sexual intimacy in her entire life.
Despite being financially stable and hardworking, she said she had spent most of her life feeling invisible and unwanted. The rejection, she said, only worsened in recent years, as people began to label her “grandma,” suggesting she was too old for love.
“I am 46 and I’ve never had sex. I’m not lazy—I sell goods and work hard. But men ignore me, and now I feel like I’m seen as an old woman,” she lamented on the program.
Her story sparked a massive outpouring of empathy from listeners who praised her honesty and vulnerability. Within days, responses began pouring in—from men within Nigeria to Nigerians living in the U.S. and U.K.—all expressing interest in meeting and potentially marrying her.
In a follow-up episode, Hamzat confirmed the overwhelming response. He revealed that many of the callers appeared genuine and were eager to connect with the woman. The station has since invited her back to evaluate the offers and possibly find a partner willing to walk life’s journey with her.
What started as a painful confession has now opened a new chapter for a woman who once believed love had passed her by.
