The third edition of Nana Aba Anamoah’s Women of Valour event, staged in Paris this March, has taken an unexpected twist after the broadcaster disclosed that some of the men who attended failed to return home.

Speaking on United Showbiz, Nana Aba revealed that of the 60 men who secured visas for the program, five chose not to return, though she clarified that not all of them were Ghanaians.

The event, which brought together participants from across Africa, was supported by a partnership with the French Embassy that enabled 110 Ghanaians, both male and female, to travel to Europe for the program.

Explaining why men were part of a women-focused initiative, she said their inclusion was deliberate, as men also need to appreciate and support the struggles women are advocating for.

However, she admitted disappointment that some attendees seemed to have travelled with ulterior motives rather than to contribute to the empowerment agenda.
