Ghanaian media icon Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, popularly known as KKD, has been named the country’s Special Envoy to the Caribbean.
The appointment by President John Dramani Mahama is designed to enhance Ghana’s diplomatic, cultural, and economic engagement with nations such as Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados.
The government emphasises that the move is part of a broader strategy to deepen bilateral ties with Caribbean countries, building on shared historical, cultural, and ancestral connections.
KKD’s new role will focus on fostering stronger relationships, promoting Ghanaian interests abroad, and leveraging cultural diplomacy to create lasting partnerships between Ghana and Caribbean nations.
