The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, visited victims and families affected by the tragic stampede at El-Wak Stadium during a military recruitment exercise. She spent time at the 37 Military Hospital on Thursday, November 13, 2025, to check on those receiving medical care and offer reassurance of government support.
The visit was undertaken at the President’s request to convey the nation’s solidarity with the injured and encourage them toward recovery. Dr Lartey also acknowledged the hospital staff and medical teams for their swift response and dedication in treating the victims.
In addition to hospital visits, the Minister, alongside the Deputy Minister of Defence and officials from her Ministry, visited bereaved families in Adenta and Kpone Katamanso to offer condolences and assurance of ongoing support. She emphasized that the Ministry would assist families throughout the healing process, ensuring their future is protected despite the tragedy. Further visits to affected families are planned in the coming days.
