In a shocking moment, a church leader mistakenly referred to former President John Mahama as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) instead of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a video circulating on social media, the leader is seen addressing Mahama, saying, “His Excellency, John Mahama, who is in our midst, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party.”
Realizing his mistake, the leader quickly apologized, saying, “I sincerely apologize. Don’t confuse me.”
The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with some people finding it amusing while others are criticizing the leader for his mistake.
“Wey stupid agenda we dey entertain for Ghana now”
“)bi se Awurade Nyankop)n”
“)Se “don’t confuse me'”
“Did I hear him say ‘don’t confuse me’”
“Ei what he drink”
Mahama, who is the NDC’s presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 elections, was present at the church event, but it’s unclear how he reacted to the mistake. He only nodded when the church leader turned to him to apologise, implying he had accepted the apology.
The NPP and NDC are two of Ghana’s main political parties, with the NPP currently in power.
