'I’m Not Rude, I Tell Things as They Are' — Nana Aba Anamoah Responds to Critics

Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has dismissed claims that she is rude, asserting that her straightforward nature is often mistaken for rudeness.

In a recent interview with Joy Prime, she emphasised that her confidence should not be misconstrued.

“I hear that all the time, and I don’t apologise for it. I don’t know why anybody would say I’m rude because I like to tell things as they are. Most of the time, I’m polite, although sometimes my politeness is veiled in subtle sarcasm,” Nana Aba explained.

She pointed out that many women shy away from expressing confidence for fear of being labelled rude.

Nana Aba believes this mindset holds women back from realising their full potential. Through her Women of Valour initiative, she aims to empower women to embrace their abilities without fear of judgment.

“The problem is that women are sometimes afraid to say what they can do because they think people will say they’re too knowing. But there’s nothing wrong with stating your capabilities — it shows what you bring to the table,” she added.

Her remarks have sparked conversations about societal expectations of women, with many applauding her for promoting confidence and self-assurance.
