Unsuccessful Guinness World Record breaker, Afua Asantewaa, affectionately known for her phenomenal singing marathon, has teased the potential launch of another captivating edition of the singathon in Kumasi slated for this December.
As the mastermind behind the event, she mesmerized the nation in December 2023 with an ambitious mission to surpass the current record holder for the longest individual singing session, Sunil Waghmare.
Despite dedicating five intense days to the endeavor, her valiant efforts were unfortunately met with disqualification.
Reflecting on this setback during an engaging conversation with Akoma FM’s Tony Best on the enriching mid-morning show monitored by News & Vibes, the esteemed tourism ambassador revealed her elation at securing a new approval from the Guinness World Record authorities to orchestrate another awe-inspiring singathon in the vibrant city of Kumasi.
Sharing her plans enthusiastically, she eagerly disclosed, “I can tell you on your show that, God willing in December, I will be hosting another singathon but this time I’m planning to do it in Kumasi.”
Undeterred by the past stumble, Afua Asantewaa and her devoted team are tirelessly conducting a comprehensive feasibility study to pinpoint the ideal locale within the city that will best complement the endeavor.
This strategic approach not only aims to provide a captivating experience for the residents but also constitutes a key element in her ambassadorial pursuit.
The unwavering spirit of this inspiring individual is evident in her resolute statement ,“The fact that I was not successful in my first attempt shouldn’t be a barrier to my quest of becoming a Guinness World record holder.”
