Reports emerged from Akroma Gold Mining Company in Esaase, Eastern Region, detailing a distressing assault on the company’s processing area.
Head of Human Resources, Frederick Obeng Somuah, disclosed that the attack occurred around 5:40 am, involving an estimated 10 to 20 armed assailants.
Despite the presence of security personnel, the armed men managed to overpower them, resulting in injuries to several employees. The attackers seized undisclosed quantities of gold bars before fleeing the scene.
Police swiftly responded to the incident, launching investigations in collaboration with the regional and district commands. Their efforts aim to determine the extent of damage and identify the perpetrators behind the brazen assault.
