Big Brother Naija alumnus, Samuel Jacob Alifa, better known as Sammie, has come under intense scrutiny after being accused of defrauding a man named Emmanuel of ₦4.5 million with the assurance of securing him a spot on the reality TV show.
The accusation surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) through a post by a user known as @AssistantEbukaa. The post included a video featuring Emmanuel, who gave a detailed account of how his supposed chance at stardom turned into a financial nightmare.
Emmanuel claimed that Sammie reached out with promises of facilitating his selection into the BBNaija house. Believing in Sammie’s influence and intentions, Emmanuel said he provided large sums of money over time, even taking a loan and later selling his car just to meet the financial demands of the process.
He also alleged that Sammie stopped all communication after receiving the funds, despite initial assurances that the money would be refunded if the plan fell through.
With this year’s BBNaija auditions concluded and no selection coming his way, Emmanuel’s frustration and disappointment have reached a peak. His story, now circulating widely online, has attracted backlash from social media users, many of whom expressed outrage and disbelief over the entire ordeal.
As of now, there has been no public response from Sammie regarding the claims.
