The Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), in collaboration with National Security officials, has successfully recovered three government-owned vehicles from the home of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), widely known as Chairman Wontumi.

The MASLOC CEO, Abigail Elorm Mensah, confirmed the recovery during an interview on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on September 10, 2025. She explained that the operation is part of MASLOC’s ongoing efforts to reclaim government assets and loans from defaulters.

Originally, five vehicles were identified at Wontumi’s residence, but three have been successfully retrieved. Authorities continue to pursue the remaining two vehicles, insisting that all assets must be returned or the associated debts settled.

Mensah emphasized that MASLOC’s standard procedures require defaulters or those misusing state property to either repay their obligations or surrender the assets. Several cases of asset misappropriation have also been reported to the police to ensure public resources are protected.
