Ghanaian socialite and fashion critic Charlie Dior recently called out media personality Cookie Tee for what he considered a fashion misstep at a recent event.
Cookie Tee, known for her vibrant hosting style, made an appearance in a striking half lace, half African print gown while performing her duties as an event host.
The gown, which combined intricate lacework with traditional African fabric, received mixed reactions from the public.
However, Charlie Dior, who hosts a popular fashion review show, wasn’t too pleased with the design.
During his critique, Charlie expressed that while the dress had the potential to be a standout look, the mix of fabrics didn’t work in its favor.
He noted that the gown would have been far more elegant and impactful if it had been crafted from a single fabric, without the addition of the African print.
Despite his critique, Charlie didn’t entirely dismiss the look.
Instead of giving it a harsh condemnation, he humorously remarked that he would “borrow” the outfit, implying that with some changes, it could be transformed into a more polished and sophisticated ensemble.
Charlie’s comments have since sparked a conversation among fashion enthusiasts, with some agreeing that simpler designs can sometimes make a stronger statement.
The incident highlights the ongoing discourse around fashion, particularly in blending traditional elements with modern designs.
As a well-known figure in Ghana’s fashion scene, Charlie Dior’s reviews carry significant weight, and his feedback often provides food for thought for both designers and wearers alike.
