Since hanging up his boots seven years ago, former Ghanaian football legend John Mensah has found a new calling in life – spreading the word of God. The ex-Black Stars captain, who once marshaled the defense with distinction, now dedicates his time to evangelism and worship at the Resurrection Power New Generation Church.
Speaking at the Ghana Football Awards ceremony, John revealed that he spends most of his time at church, saying, “I’m keeping myself in the church since I’m not on the field anymore.”
His passion for evangelism is driven by a desire to win more souls for Christ, and he’s committed to helping his community know God better.
John’s impressive football career saw him play a crucial role in Ghana’s historic run to the 2010 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals and their second-place finish in the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations. With 86 caps and three goals for the national team, John’s legacy on the field is matched only by his dedication to his faith off it.
John’s remarkable football career may have ended, but his legacy lives on through the countless lives he’s touched both on and off the field. As he navigates this new chapter in his life, John remains an inspiration to many, a testament to the power of faith and determination.
