Ghanaian Woman Left Heartbroken as Chinese Galamsey Lover Vanishes After Impregnating Her

A young woman from the Ashanti Region is in emotional distress after being abandoned by a Chinese man who fathered her child and mysteriously fled Ghana. Selina Adu Gyamfi, a resident of Abodom in the Asante Bekwai Municipality, is pleading with the public for help in locating the man known only as Leon.

Selina revealed during an emotional radio interview that she had been in a relationship with Leon, a Chinese national who was involved in illegal mining operations—commonly referred to as galamsey—in her community. During their time together, Leon reportedly supported her financially, giving her cash regularly and leading her to believe their relationship was genuine and long-term.

The relationship, however, took a shocking turn. Selina discovered she was pregnant just two months after the group of Chinese miners left the town. At first, she says Leon responded positively when informed about the pregnancy, but his attitude changed shortly after. He began avoiding her, cut off communication entirely, and eventually made himself unreachable.

Attempts to find him proved unsuccessful. Selina said she even filed a report with the police, which briefly led to Leon’s arrest. But shortly after his release, he vanished again without a trace, leaving her to face the reality of single motherhood with no support.

Now left to raise her child alone, Selina is struggling both emotionally and financially. She expressed deep pain over how a man who once showered her with affection and money has now left her abandoned and without answers. Her appeal to the public is a cry for help—not just to locate Leon, but to bring attention to the hardships faced by women left behind in such circumstances.
