Ghanaian journalist and media personality Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii is fighting for his vision after sustaining severe eye damage from a gunshot wound at the Dormaa Kwafie Festival.
What was meant to be a day of cultural celebration turned tragic when the award-winning journalist was shot in the face, leaving him in need of multiple surgeries to save his sight.
While earlier reports indicated that Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama, through his foundation, had pledged to cover Kofi Adomah’s medical expenses, a new development has emerged.
A GoFundMe campaign titled “Support for Kofi Adomah’s Eye Surgery” has been launched by popular vlogger and close friend, Oppong Kofi, also known as Magreheb, to raise additional funds for the necessary procedures.
The fundraiser is steadily gaining support, with €1,907 raised from 39 donations as of February 15, 2025. The media fraternity, fans, and sympathizers continue to rally behind the journalist, not only contributing financially but also calling for justice regarding the incident.
