The founder and leader of Heavens Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei popularly known as Kumchacha has revealed in an interview with ZionFelix that he has never charged any media house or blogger for interviews.
He explained that a lot of Ghanaians think he is a pastor who only doubles as a social commentor but he has other businesses he operates that gives him income. He addressed the claims that he is just a social commentor and said he chooses to be a social commentator and it is none of anyone’s business.
“That’s none of anyone’s business, you know I have never been to social media, … and other bloggers for interviews, there is not a single day that I have spelt out my contact details for anyone to send me money. Do you understand but everytime you see me, I am dressed good, I am okay, I am fantastic so it is none of anyone’s business. Apart from the pastoral work, I have other businesses.”
He explained that though he has been to UTV many times for interviews he has never being paid to have an discussions or interviews because he has built a certain relationship with the media houses.
“They have never paid me. I use big cars. I came to your interview with a V8 and I bought petrol worth 2000, I use big cars. No radio station has given me 1 cedi. No tv station, even if you give me, I won’t accept.”
“I have never been to a show where they have given me money and even if they do, l won’t accept. I am not suffering financially, I have preached at Peace FM for years, ‘Apraku My Daughter’ and I preached there first for 23 years till Hello was born in kumasi. When we moved to Kumasi too, I used to preach at Hello then Okay was born and Neat. There is nothing that when I ask Kwame Despite or Fada Dickson won’t do for me. There is nothing I will do at Multimedia that I will receive payment.”
