Nigerian Footballer Odion Jude Ighalo has maintained a consistent commitment to tithing since 2005, never failing to set aside a portion of his income.
He shared this during an interview on Ash Christ TV with Rasheedat Ajibade, where he reflected on how he developed the habit.
His journey with tithing began in 2005 when he received his first salary as a professional footballer, earning ₦15,000.
At the time, his pastor had emphasized the importance of giving a fraction of one’s earnings as tithe, a lesson that resonated with him.
From that moment, he made the decision to follow the practice diligently and has continued ever since.
Recalling his early experiences, Ighalo admitted that he initially faced hesitation when he received his first paycheck.
He wrestled with the thought of keeping the full amount but ultimately chose to stay true to the teachings he had received.
Over the years, he has upheld the belief that being responsible with small amounts of money builds the discipline to manage larger sums wisely.
For nearly two decades, he has remained steadfast in this principle, viewing it as an essential part of his financial and spiritual life.
