Manhyia Palace has clarified which businesses will continue operations in Kumasi on Thursday, the final day of the late Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III’s burial ceremonies.
During daytime hours, banks, pharmacies, fuel stations, restaurants, and transport providers are permitted to operate without restrictions. In contrast, schools and markets will remain closed throughout the day as part of the ceremonial observances.
At night, only essential service personnel—including staff from the Electricity Company of Ghana, Ghana Water Company, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Ambulance Service, and the Ghana Health Service—will be allowed movement to carry out their duties.
The directives, issued by Nana Effah Appenteng, Acting Chief of Staff of Manhyia Palace, are designed to maintain order and ensure that the final rites of the late Queen proceed smoothly while essential services continue uninterrupted.
