A Nigerian man has sparked outrage and debate on social media after revealing how he was insulted by a woman he took on an expensive date. According to the man, who shared his experience via X, he had been speaking with the lady for about four months and decided to treat her to a night out.
During the outing, he reportedly covered all expenses, including ₦45,000 for food, ₦30,000 for an outfit she requested (which she didn’t even wear), ₦7,000 for transportation, and an additional ₦20,000 sent to her. Despite his generous gestures, the woman reportedly told her friends in a group chat that he was a fool for not attempting to initiate sex during the date.
The man discovered the insult through a mutual friend who leaked the conversation. He was shocked to learn that she considered him a “mugu” who could be easily used without offering anything in return. Adding salt to injury, the woman had earlier told him that she couldn’t date him because he had no university education.
Following the public revelation of the incident, the woman reportedly contacted him, begging him to take the post down. At the same time, she lashed out at him with insults, further complicating the situation.
