Nana Yaa Brefo was notably incensed when she publicly criticized the followers of Prophet Salifu Amoako for their unwarranted attack on a journalist.
The incident was further exacerbated when Bishop Amoako, who had been recently detained and taken to court due to his son’s involvement in a tragic accident in East Legon resulting in the unfortunate demise of two innocent children.
The court appearance turned chaotic as some members of his congregation endeavored to obstruct the media from covering the proceedings, leading to a skirmish where several reporters were physically assaulted.
Strangely, no arrests were made in the aftermath of this disturbing event. Despite this lack of legal action, Nana Yaa Brefo took the opportunity during a radio broadcast to vehemently condemn the followers of Bishop Amoako.
She emphatically expressed her belief that their behavior was tarnishing the reputation of both God and the Christian faith, stressing the need for accountability and responsible conduct among those who claim to be followers of the faith.
Tragedy struck when a Jaguar SUV, driven by the son of a clergyman, collided with a 4X4 Acura vehicle.
The SUV, with registration number GN 7801-20, had one passenger, while the Acura, with registration number GR 2542-23, had five occupants, including the driver.
The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire after crashing into an electric pole. Quick-thinking passersby rescued three occupants from the Acura and two from the SUV.
Sadly, two people lost their lives in the blaze. The incident led to the arrest of the suspect driver’s parents, Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, along with one other person, on charges of allowing an unlicensed individual to operate a vehicle.
