Nigerian politician and businessman Prince Ned Nwoko has refuted circulating claims that he married actress Regina Daniels while she was under 18. He stated that the allegations are false and misleading, urging the public to treat them with skepticism.
According to Nwoko, following marriage disputes, Daniels and her family had circulated assertions that he had married her at 17. He clarified that before the marriage, he verified her age to ensure it complied with the law.
Nwoko explained that during their first meeting, he asked Daniels about her age, and she confirmed she was 21. She also presented her INEC voter’s card as proof, showing a birth date of October 10, 1998. He retained this document from that time. He noted that other public records, including interviews with Daniels’ mother, corroborate her age.
The marriage took place six years ago, which makes Daniels 27 years old today. Any suggestion that she was 17 at the time of the wedding is inaccurate. Nwoko emphasized that the facts are verifiable and indisputable, and advised the public to approach claims questioning Daniels’ age with caution, considering her reported struggles with rehabilitation from substance abuse.
