A newly married couple tragically lost their lives in a devastating road accident on the night of their wedding in the Gurugu area of Tamale.
The incident, which occurred around 11:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2025, came just hours after the couple had exchanged vows in a joyful ceremony earlier that day, surrounded by family and friends.
According to a close family member of the groom, the wedding had been especially meaningful given the groom’s past difficulties in finding a life partner. Sadly, what began as a moment of celebration quickly turned into a scene of heartbreak.
While making their way from the family home to the groom’s rented residence on a motorcycle, the couple reportedly collided with an unregistered vehicle. The car, believed to have been driven by individuals identified as Nigerian nationals, allegedly fled the scene immediately after the impact.
The accident claimed the lives of both the bride and groom on the spot. Their remains were transported to the morgue at the Tamale Teaching Hospital around 2:50 AM the following morning.
Authorities are currently investigating the crash, while loved ones mourn the shocking end to what should have been the start of a new chapter in the couple’s life.
