The Ghana Police Service and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government have not handled evangelist Mama Pat, also known as Nana Agradaa’s issue satisfactorily, according to her. Agradaa expressed concern about the police’s justifications for her prolonged handcuffs and detention during a TikTok live session.
She also disclosed that she felt abused.
Agradaa asked why Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had not stepped in to ensure her release.
She made it clear that she planned to actively participate in the next elections in 2024 and publicly identify her favorite political party.
As per a statement issued by the police on October 9, 2022, Agradaa was arrested by the Ghana Police Service on suspicion of being involved in a money-doubling scheme.
This came after a number of people who attended an all-night church service that Agradaa held lodged complaints, claiming that she had broken promises about receiving financial incentives.
Agradaa was later freed following investigations, despite the claims, and the police asked anybody who had fallen for the purported fraud to come forward and help with the inquiry by reporting to the Accra Regional Police Command.
