Prophet Kumchacha, founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, has publicly criticized President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the country’s economic challenges.
In a video, Prophet Kumchacha expressed concern about the dwindling contributions from his congregation, attributing it to the government’s policies.
During a recent service, Prophet Kumchacha noted that offerings had decreased significantly, with members donating only coins and 1 cedi notes.
He emphasized that this trend could hinder the church’s growth and sustainability. While acknowledging that members bear some responsibility, he placed the blame squarely on the government’s economic management.
“The economy is bad, and everyone is suffering,” Prophet Kumchacha stated.
“I blame the president and his vice. If you look into this offering bowl, you will only find coins; even the notes in it are just a handful.”
Prophet Kumchacha’s comments highlight the far-reaching impact of economic hardship on various aspects of society, including religious institutions. His criticism echoes the sentiments of many Ghanaians struggling to cope with the current economic situation.
This is how netizens responded to the video shared on social media;
“If you’re a physics student, nobody should tell you that the church is empty. Listen to the echo; the sound waves bouncing back tell you about the emptiness within. a testament to an unoccupied space.”
“You decided to do a content boss. There’s no one sitting there.”
“Ebi settings nobody dey the church inside.. just listen to how the echo be loud.”
“Stomach pastor way of campaigning lol …who Dey the church there smh lol.”

“The church should also help the congregation in terms of physical needs… I think most of our churches doest emphasize on that, everyday pray pray pray!”
“How is this relevant, the church is place of worship not a place to extort. Offerings where made in secrecy between worshipers and their God.”
