A young woman who now trades beneath the Oshodi bridge in Nigeria has opened up about the painful betrayal that changed her life.
Originally from Ikorodu, she recounted how she fell deeply in love with a man and became his primary support system while he pursued his university education. Despite warnings from others, she chose to believe in him, sending him money—sometimes up to ₦50,000—to cover his needs and tuition.
Unfortunately, after completing his studies, the man ended their relationship and married another woman—one with a formal education. The experience left her emotionally shattered.
Following the breakup, she turned to trading under the bridge at Oshodi to make ends meet. She explained that although her heart was broken, her focus is now on her business, which brings her fulfillment and financial stability.
As the only daughter in a family of five siblings and with both parents deceased, she has taken on the responsibility of funding her younger brothers’ education. She emphasized that she refuses to engage in hookup culture and instead earns an honest living through her sales.
She also made it clear that if any man wishes to marry her in the future, he must be prepared to take her out of her current hustle by renting a shop for her.
Her story, shared through a TikTok video, quickly went viral, drawing a flood of emotional responses online. Many admired her resilience and sincerity, with some expressing sympathy and others sharing similar experiences of betrayal.
