Social Media Influencer Accuses Popular X User of Harassment and Defamation
A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to accuse a popular influencer known as Kene on X (formerly Twitter) of harassment and defamation. In a detailed post, she recounted an incident that allegedly occurred two years ago at Graceville Hotel in Lagos, where Kene reportedly tried to coerce her into his hotel room and later accused her of theft.
The woman shared a video showing her visibly distressed at the hotel, pleading for help. In the footage, she identifies the influencer and claims he refused to let her leave the premises after she declined to accompany him to his room.
According to her, Kene had repeatedly asked the waitress to serve her meal in his room, expecting her to follow. When she refused, he allegedly became enraged and demanded a refund for the meal.
“I agreed to refund the money, but he refused to give his account details and instead held me at the hotel gate for hours, accusing me of theft,” she said.
The situation reportedly escalated to the point where she had to call her friend and cousin for assistance late at night amid heavy rain.
The lady also challenged Kene’s claims that he spent ₦500,000 on her during the incident, demanding that he provide proof. She further alleged that Kene threatened to have her jailed and take her phone, claiming that he boasted she would not survive in prison.
“I kept quiet about this for two years, but I won’t let him keep lying about me. If he truly has CCTV footage, let him release it,” she insisted. She concluded her statement by saying she would not address the matter again unless provoked.
The incident has reignited conversations about consent, harassment, and the power dynamics involving influencers and their followers. As the story circulates, many online users have weighed in, expressing mixed reactions to the allegations and calling for accountability if the claims are proven true.
