Idris Okuneye, better known by his name Bobrisky, a Nigerian crossdresser has been convicted to six months in prison without the possibility of fine by the Federal High Court in Lagos in Nigeria.
Bobrisky was ordered by the court to begin serving his jail sentence on March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.
Justice Awogboro issued this decision in an effort to dissuade people from misusing and destroying Nigerian cash.
When Bobrisky was queried by the judge about his gender before to the sentencing, he quickly replied that he is a man.
Bobrisky has been in the news lately because the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested him for charges of money laundering and money mutilation. He was found guilty last week on four charges of misusing Naira currency.
