Influencer and content creator Ama Burland, from Ghana, has discussed the importance of achieving financial independence prior to getting married.
Ama recently discussed her personal relationship beliefs and the significance of financial stability before entering into a lifelong commitment like marriage on Efia Odo’s podcast.
She clarified that she believed that relationship pressure might be greatly increased by money issues. She feels that getting married is a major commitment and that having enough money is essential to a happy marriage.
She emphasized that she wanted to enter that stage of her life when she was completely prepared, particularly financially.
The content creator continued by saying that she would prefer to avoid getting married before being in a stable financial situation because she knows how easy disagreements and miscommunications can result from financial difficulties.
Ama, who is 26 years old, said she frequently gets asked when she intends to get married. She struggles to respond definitively, though, since she believes she is still not financially independent to the extent she would like to be.
Ama conceded that she needs to feel as though she is making a financial contribution to the relationship’s well-being even if her partner is well-off. She emphasized that the readiness of her finances is equally crucial for her and her partner.
