A shocking story of betrayal has surfaced, as a young man recounts how his best friend’s attempt to poison him tragically led to the death of his friend instead.
The dramatic turn of events began when the man’s best friend invited him to meet up, bringing along a concoction of herbs, locally known as ‘agbo.’
After drinking the mixture, the young man began feeling unusually weak and disoriented.
His friend dismissed his concerns, explaining that the discomfort was due to drinking the herbs on an empty stomach. However, things quickly took a dark turn as the young man’s condition worsened, and he soon lost consciousness.
The friend, realizing that his attempt to kill him had failed, took advantage of the situation by stealing the young man’s personal belongings, including his laptop, phone, clothes, and other valuables.
It wasn’t until later in the day that the young man’s neighbor, who hadn’t heard from him, raised the alarm.
Upon entering the room, the neighbor found the young man unresponsive and presumed dead. From 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., he lay lifeless in his bed.
Miraculously, the young man survived and, using his phone’s flashlight, managed to call his friend, John. Surprised, John asked, “Egbon Leo, you didn’t die?” The young man, though weak, responded with defiance, telling his friend that those who wished harm upon him would face a similar fate.
He then reminded John that he wasn’t indebted to him, and would, in fact, want his stolen items back.
Shortly afterward, the news broke that the friend who had attempted the poisoning was found dead under a bridge.
Witnesses at the scene revealed that the friend had collapsed and died unexpectedly, leaving many in shock. The young man, who had survived the poison, couldn’t help but reflect on the irony of the situation.
