A die-hard fan of Accra Hearts of Oak, a taxi driver and father, was overcome with emotion after his beloved team suffered a defeat last Sunday against Holy Stars in the first game of the Ghana Premier League.
As he watched the game, he couldn’t contain his disappointment, and a video of him breaking down in tears has gone viral on social media.
Social media users reacted with a mix of shock, amusement, and sympathy. “Are the Phobia players watching? Yoo!” asked @HeartsOfOakFan1, while @KotokoFan23 joked, “Support Asante Kotoko and your tears will be joy.” @GhanaianGirl questioned, “How can you be a die-hard fan in this economy ei?”
