Watch: Muslim woman fasting faints on roadside but refuses to take food

Social media users saw a heartwarming event in a video that showed the tenacity and commitment of a Muslim woman known only as Alhaja.

She fainted on a busy roadway, her resolve to observe Ramadan fasting unwavering even in trying times. Alhaja politely declined a well-meaning bystander’s offer of a malt drink to help her, citing her commitment to religion.

A bystander’s camera captured the momentous collapse of Alhaja, causing anxious bystanders to rush to her aid. They rushed to her aid and used a variety of techniques, such as lightly misting her face with water, to jolt her out of her stupor.

A kind person held out a malt drink as the incident happened, maybe hoping to console the victim.
