A late-night meeting meant to resolve a relationship dispute ended in tragedy at a guest house in Shinyanga Municipality. Police have arrested 37-year-old Pendo Samson Methusela for allegedly attacking her lover, Timithoy Magesa, with a razor blade, leading to his death.
The confrontation took place on August 23 at Bwashee Guest House in Ndala Ward. According to police reports, the argument was triggered by a phone call Pendo received from another woman using Timithoy’s phone — a warning to end the relationship. Hours later, Timithoy invited Pendo to meet and talk things through.
What began as a conversation quickly escalated. During the altercation, Pendo allegedly used a razor blade to slash Timithoy’s left arm and abdomen. He was rushed to Shinyanga Municipal Hospital but died while receiving treatment.
Regional Police Commander Janeth Magomi described the incident as a crime of passion. She confirmed that the suspect is in custody and will be arraigned once legal procedures are complete.
Residents in the area say they saw a crowd gathering outside the guest house after church, unaware of the full extent of the violence. The case has sparked renewed calls for peaceful conflict resolution in relationships, with police urging the public to avoid taking matters into their own hands.
