Woman Claims Laser Treatment Left Her Scarred, Clinic Responds with Lawsuit Warning

A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to raise alarm after a cosmetic procedure by Hello Perfect Aesthetic & Laser Clinic allegedly left her with permanent facial scarring. Instead of addressing her concerns, the clinic is reportedly threatening her with legal action and possible imprisonment.

The woman explained that she found the clinic on Instagram in 2023, attracted by their impressive before-and-after images and positive reviews. After paying a fee for a virtual consultation, she was given a treatment plan covering facial acne and underarm issues, which she later felt was a suspicious approach.

Despite doubts, she proceeded with treatments at the clinic’s Abuja and Lagos branches between September and November 2023. During her second session in Lagos, she underwent a laser resurfacing treatment that caused discomfort, dismissed by staff as normal. More troubling was the substitution of a 10% hydroquinone cream, a stronger concentration than the standard 4%, without proper explanation.

There was no follow-up after the sessions. When she sent photos to the clinic showing her condition in December, she was merely told to continue using the cream and was later informed of an additional depigmentation treatment scheduled for January.

The situation deteriorated when the clinic shared footage of her treatment on Instagram stories without her consent. A friend managed to have it removed, but the clinic did not issue any apology or further communication.

By January, the woman lost faith in the clinic and canceled her remaining appointments. Despite the trauma she endured over two years, she remained silent until April 2025, when she posted a video about her experience on TikTok.

Following that, the clinic arranged what was described as a review session, which instead felt like an interrogation. The clinic’s CEO reportedly made comments downplaying the severity of laser treatments, contradicting the woman’s experience.

After involving legal counsel, the woman says the clinic ignored her initial legal notice but later denied her claims and threatened court action, including a possible two-year prison sentence if she continued speaking out.

Refusing to be silenced, she encouraged others who have suffered from similar medical or cosmetic negligence to come forward and seek justice, emphasizing the need for greater accountability and support within the aesthetic treatment industry in Nigeria.
