A heartbreaking video circulating online has captured the emotional breakdown of a Nigerian woman, identified as an Alhaja and reportedly a stroke patient, who claims she was physically assaulted by her husband—a man said to be an Islamic cleric—over a dispute involving just ₦800.
The disturbing footage, shared on X (formerly Twitter), shows the woman in visible pain, her face swollen and bruised. According to the narration, the incident occurred after midnight, when her husband allegedly demanded intimacy.
She said she declined due to exhaustion. Later, when she asked for food money and he refused, she decided to check his bag and discovered ₦800. That simple act, she claimed, triggered a violent reaction.
“He bent my hand and started beating me,” the woman is heard recounting tearfully in the video. “He even used his head to hit my eye.”
As she spoke, multiple voices in the background urged her to leave the marriage, condemning the alleged abuse and expressing concern for her wellbeing, especially given her medical condition.
The video has since sparked widespread outrage across social media, with many calling for justice and questioning how a religious leader could allegedly behave in such a brutal and unprovoked manner.
