One person has died, with many others injured in an accident at Mankrong on the Accra–Kumasi Highway.
The accident on January 11, 2026, involved a 40-seater Zhong Tong bus with registration number AS 7022-21 and a Man Diesel truck with registration number GW 3969-U.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was travelling at high speed when it crashed into the truck.
While one person died, 37 others, including 21 males and 17 females, sustained varying injuries, while the truck occupants escaped unhurt.
Personnel of the fire service responded to the scene to extricate the deceased from the wreckage, assist the injured, clear the scene, restore traffic flow, and ensure the safety of road users.
