In the early hours of Thursday, July 17, 2025, a serious road accident at Adansi Kyeaboso in the Ashanti Region left sixteen individuals with injuries. The incident involved a Toyota Hiace, registered GT 1910-14, which was on a journey from Takoradi to Kumasi when it suddenly veered into trouble around 4:16 am.

The vehicle had sixteen occupants on board at the time. Without warning, the trip turned tragic when the vehicle reportedly crashed under unclear circumstances. Though the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, poor visibility due to early morning darkness and possibly road or speed factors may have contributed.

Emergency services responded promptly. Just minutes after the crash occurred, a rescue team from the Fomena Fire Station, led by Sub-Officer Addae of the Ghana National Fire Service, arrived at the scene. Their swift intervention ensured that all injured passengers were extracted from the wrecked vehicle and immediately given attention.

The victims were transported to St. Bennito Hospital in Adansi Dompoase, where medical teams began urgent treatment. The health conditions of the passengers are being closely monitored, with hospital staff working to stabilize them.

Officials from the Ashanti Regional division of the Fire Service have acknowledged the rapid response of the Fomena unit, crediting their quick action as critical in preventing fatalities.
