A devastating lightning strike during a rainstorm has claimed the life of a 25-year-old police constable in Cape Coast, leaving colleagues and loved ones in shock and mourning.

The victim, identified as Constable Godfred Dapaah and known affectionately as “Toner,” was reportedly engaged in a phone conversation with his girlfriend when the fatal incident occurred.

The tragedy struck during a heavy thunderstorm that swept across the area. Despite the intensifying weather, Dapaah remained outdoors, continuing his call with no visible signs of concern. Suddenly, a powerful lightning bolt struck him, ending his life on the spot.

Eyewitnesses were left stunned by the suddenness of the event. Immediate efforts to revive the young officer proved unsuccessful.
