Three persons have been confirmed dead, and twenty others injured, following a serious collision between a Mitsubishi Outlander and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter on the Kumasi–Accra Highway.
The accident occurred at Odumasi Ohene Nkwanta on Monday, 11th May 2026. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received a distress call at 07:55 hours and swiftly dispatched rescue crews to the scene.
Firefighters worked to extricate trapped victims from the wreckage of the two vehicles, which have been identified as a Mitsubishi Outlander with registration number DV G8180 and a Benz Sprinter with registration number GE 6024-22.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency medical care. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service for further investigations.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or the cause of the crash. The MTTD has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
Motorists using the Kumasi–Accra Highway are advised to exercise caution as traffic may be affected while the scene is being cleared.
