Four vehicles were destroyed in an early morning fire at the Kronum branch of GOIL Company Limited in the Suame Municipality of the Ashanti Region on Friday, February 20, 2026.

According to multiple reports online, the fire started around 3:00 am, consuming a Nissan Urvan bus, a Kia Pregio, and two tricycles parked close to the station.

“Four vehicles, including a Nissan Urvan, a Kia Pregio, and two tricycles, were destroyed in an early morning fire at Goil Filling Station in Kronum, Suame Municipality,” Channel One TV stated in an X post.

Also, an eyewitness at the scene of the fire stated that; “The Kia Pregio began emitting thick smoke shortly before flames erupted. The fire rapidly spread to the other vehicles and extended toward a nearby motor park, sparking fears of a larger disaster. The swift intervention of the station’s security guard and some local residents helped prevent the situation from worsening.”

No casualties were reported, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Residents suspect the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault in one of the vehicles, although the exact cause remains unconfirmed.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, specifically the Bohyen Fire Station, later arrived at the scene to fully extinguish the fire and secure the area.

Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service, (GNFS) have launched investigations the cause of the fire.
