Francis, a 6-year-old kindergarten student at New Legon AdMA Model Primary School, suffered a catastrophic accident when he slipped into an abandoned trench that was filled with water on the school grounds.
Francis’s parent drove him to Pantang Hospital on a motorbike, but he was declared dead.
Witnesses claim that at the time of the accident, Francis was playing in a neighbor’s compound with two other kids. After Francis fell into the pit, the two kids informed the neighborhood, and rescue efforts were launched.
Margaret Sarpong, the mother of Francis, expressed shock and sorrow over her son’s passing and blamed the instructors and school administration for their incompetence.
In addition to requesting action to protect the safety of other students at the school, she is pursuing justice.
Residents of the New Legon community are concerned about this occurrence since, according to them, three children have died in similar circumstances in the last three years.
To stop tragedies like these, they are demanding that the school be fenced in.
An investigation has been started, and the Adentan Police have been alerted. In light of the community’s grief, parents are calling for action to protect their children.
