Ghanaian rapper Kojo Cue has revealed that he came dangerously close to walking away from music entirely after facing a wave of emotional and mental struggles.
In a heart-to-heart conversation with blogger ZionFelix, the rapper admitted that a tough period in 2020 shattered his motivation to create.
Weighed down by personal battles and a sense that life wasn’t unfolding the way he expected, Kojo found himself mentally drained and uninspired.
At his lowest, he decided to part ways with his music equipment — not to upgrade, but because he was convinced he was done with music.
“I gave out my studio setup,” he shared, emphasizing just how serious he was about stepping away from the industry.
But that wasn’t all. The “Rich Dad Poor Dad” rapper also wiped his presence from social media.
According to him, the virtual noise only worsened his mental state. Cutting off from the internet allowed him to rediscover real-world connections and clarity.
In that quiet season, Kojo Cue shifted his attention to his family and low-profile business ventures, intentionally avoiding the limelight. The decision helped him reset, reflect, and slowly rebuild.
Though he’s gradually resurfacing, his story is a raw reminder that behind every stage performance is a human being who battles real struggles — and sometimes, the silence speaks louder than the music.
