Ghana Revenue Authority Denies Media Claims About Strategic Mobilisation Contract

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has officially debunked recent media reports claiming that Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd. (SML) had its revenue assurance oversight role expanded to include the upstream petroleum and solid minerals sectors.

In a public statement, GRA made clear that the suspension of SML’s contract, which was initially imposed in April 2024, is still in place and has not been lifted.

Contrary to circulating reports, the Authority emphasized that it has not authorized SML to restart or activate any operations under the 2023 Consolidation of Revenue Assurance Services Contract related to those sectors.

The GRA reassured stakeholders in the petroleum and minerals industries, as well as the general public, of its steadfast commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s revenue with full transparency and integrity. The Authority’s message underscores that no changes have been made to the status of SML’s involvement pending further review.
